Happy Friday!

Its been a good week, but I’m happy to see the end of it!

My game arrived on Saturday…

LB helped me set up the new game system that my son and his family gave me for Christmas and I enjoyed a trip back in time.

I was having fun until I began repeatedly falling off of ferris wheels in Donut Land.

At that point, I had to walk away.

~

Sunday I was flipping through some posts on Instagram when I came across a cute outfit.

Since I thought it was cute, I asked LB if he thought it was cute.

He answered “I’d have to see it on you”.

LB had concerns about the white “men’s shoes”. LOL

With all this outfit inspiration, I had to go shopping.  LB and I went out Sunday afternoon, but there was no red and white hounds-tooth blazer to be found.  I didn’t need anything else to store in my closet anyway.  But I did try on some cute blouses…

It seems that winter has finally arrived in Florida.

On Monday after work, LB and I headed outside to cover some of our plants.  I have a pretty hibiscus and a mandevilla that I especially wanted to protect.  And there was a special little tree that I had to make sure was tucked in for the frosty night…

Little Miss Figgy

No she isn’t dead, but was a bit worse for the wear after a ride with the postal service and being wrapped before Christmas.  I got her into the ground asap and she is still with us.

Little Miss Figgy is a fig tree that I had on my Pinterest wish list and my sister happened to see it

I’m looking forward to watching her grow!

Christmas gift giving can get very expensive… so we draw names in my family.  Using the website drawnames.com, each is assigned a secret Santa with a $50 limit.  This year some people did not follow the rules.  One person in particular bought presents for EVERYONE.  It was a nice gesture, but defeated the whole point of drawing names!

Throughout the year, LB and I will go shopping.  Sometimes he will buy me something, typically an item of clothing that I like, and save it for Christmas.  It is amazing how quickly I forget about these things.  I’m always surprised on Christmas morning when I open gifts from him, but I soon remember picking the item and the the fun memory of shopping on that noteworthy day.

If I never bought another item of clothing again, or received another gift, I would still have too much.

One particular gift comes to mind.  It is a box of teas.

One box, containing nine small boxes, each containing ten bags of tea.  Yes, I now have ninety bags of tea.

I’m trying out each of them, because that’s just what I do.

And if you get a hankering for flavored tea, please stop by and I’ll share a cup with you.

A few other gifts stand out as well.  I’m going to call these my

Oh HAPPY Day!

January 7, 2022

Since September 2021 I have been struggling to manage anger.  My anger management trouble was triggered on August 30th when the rules changed at work.  My 4-person team was awarded the opportunity to handle a new category of complaint for the entire center.  This gave us ownership of the type of issue that is un-resolvable and leaves a customer frustrated and proficient in their ability to express rage.

I understand why the company made the decision to change process and that is because we are the best of the best 😊  but that doesn’t make it any easier.  It has been an exhausting effort.

Due to fried brain syndrome, after I log off in the afternoon, typically I will have a seat on the sofa and fall asleep.

But today management announced another change.  It went something like this:

After data review and much consideration we have decided to pause the *** cases starting close of business today. I will be sending out the notification to others shortly. This means that starting tomorrow we will not accept *** submissions at this time until further review and possible revamp.  The reason… process as it stands is not the initial intention and has slightly morphed leaving you all overwhelmed.

I couldn’t have described “the process as it stands” more beautifully if I tried.

I do actually have some favorites for today.  They go back a few weeks, but thats because I have some catching up to do!

Christmas 2021

5 days before Christmas and I am DONE!  [This is a positive not a negative].

I have the house decorated and gifts wrapped.

LB has erected his new GRINCH in the front yard.  I’ve engaged in some crafting of Christmas goodies: Almond Roca, Dark chocolate fudge, Magic cookie bars, and of course, Christmas cookies!  The girls will be over later this week to make divinity.

LB and I have celebrated the SEASON by attending a Christmas event at Promiseland Baptist Church, attending a showing of  Bruce Allen Scudder’s “Christmas Carol” at the Alhambraand spending an evening with the Family decorating Christmas cookies and gingerbread houses.

And that is as far as I got.

I began this Christmas 2021 blog post, but never got around to finishing…   one of 43 unfinished in my Prettyis drafts folder.

Which came with a $500+ medical bill.

It was just a tiny procedure, but I had never experienced it and did not like the sound of it, or the reason it was necessary.  I waited for the appointment from mid-November until a few days after Christmas.  It was a nerve-racking few weeks.

Fortunately all is well.  Good health is truly a blessing.

New Year Mini Vacay

I was one of the lucky few who were able to be off New Years Eve.  LB and I left home and headed for Jekyll Island (one of LB’s favorite places).  We stayed in a new hotel and attended an event at the Jekyll Island Club Resort.  There was a band and many people took to the dance floor (not me).  There was A LOT of food and quite a few guests.  I didn’t make it to midnight; We went back to the hotel and watched Andy Cohen’s excellent rant to bring in the new year.  It was great.  I’d love to link it, but I can’t find a good recording.  Also I don’t want to promote liberals.

I do, however, want to promote conservatives.

A Message from Donald J. Trump

What we witnessed yesterday was the last gasps of a corrupt and discredited left-wing political and media establishment that has, for decades, driven our country into the ground—shipping away our jobs, surrendering our strength, sacrificing our sovereignty, attacking our history and values, and trying to turn America into a country that our people can barely recognize.

These radical leftists in Washington care NOTHING for American Democracy. All they care about is control over you, and wealth and riches for themselves.

But they are failing. No one believes them anymore. And the day is quicky coming when they will be overwhelmingly voted out of power.

Joe Biden’s voice is now the voice of desperation and despair.

His handlers gave him that speech to read yesterday because they know the unprecedented failures of his presidency and the left-wing extremism of the Pelosi-Schumer Congress have destroyed the Democrat Party.

Part of their panic is motivated by the realization that, just like the Russia Collusion Hoax, they cannot sustain the preposterous fabrications about January 6 much longer. The truth is coming out.

But for them, the worst part of it all is the knowledge that the American People are seeing right through their phony media event—which despicably compared a Pelosi-led security failure at the Capitol to the darkest days in American history and the deaths of 3,000 Americans.

The people see right through that sham. They see a cynical politician who ran for office promising unity who is now doing the most divisive thing possible—slandering his political opponents as domestic terrorists, just like insecure dictators do in communist countries.

The American People also see that January 6 has become the Democrats’ excuse and pretext for the most chilling assault on the civil liberties of American citizens in generations. It is being used to justify outrageous attacks on free speech, widespread censorship, de-platforming, calls for increased domestic surveillance, appalling abuse of political prisoners, labeling opponents of COVID lockdowns and mandates as national security threats, and even ordering the FBI to target parents who object to the radical indoctrination of their children in school. And this week, January 6 is also the Democrats’ excuse for trying to pass a radical Federal takeover of state election law. They are trying to BAN voter ID and other basic measures that can ensure the sacred integrity of the vote.

The reason the Democrats are doing all of this is not because they believe they will win a fair and honest election. It’s because they know they will overwhelmingly LOSE one.

Remember, I am not the one trying to undermine American Democracy—I am the one trying to SAVE American Democracy.

Today, I am more confident than ever in the strength and common sense of the American People. They are counting the days until we will no longer have to be constantly lectured, lied to, and dictated to by corrupt politicians and their media partners. When we will no longer have to put up with this broken establishment’s hoaxes and its manufactured media narratives—And as Biden and his radical handlers know, that day is coming fast. Because in the months and years ahead, the American People are going to speak up, take action, and VOTE in massive numbers, and we are going to TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY.

From the very beginning, all that Americans have wanted is great jobs, safe neighborhoods, strong borders, good schools, a proud nation, and a government that LISTENS to the American People. That is what our movement has always been about—and that is what we are focused on to this day.

Joe Biden and the Radical Democrats have failed on every front. But do not lose hope. America WILL be Great Again.

Today is Friday the 13th.

Don’t walk under any ladders, don’t break any mirrors, don’t spill any salt, don’t open an umbrella indoors, don’t pick up a penny facing down, and don’t walk by any black cats.  If you’re superstitious, that is.

Still, Friday the 13th is better than ANY Monday.

The weekend is here!

It has been awhile since I’ve posted a Friday Favorites, so I have favorites to share from a few weeks back.

Lydia’s birthday was on the 12th, but she didn’t make it to Florida until the following weekend.  We were able to celebrate her 6th year at Mama’s (the gathering place).

Everyone is so happy to have Richard, Emily, Lydia and Rory back in Florida.  Even though they came to town often, family gatherings while they were away just weren’t the same.  This week they walked over to visit.  Little Rory was so excited she started running. The photo is fuzzy, but you get the idea!

My family isn’t the only company we’ve had recently.  We finally got our new roof!  You can’t tell from this picture, but there were men all over the roof that day.  Needless to say, they made a lot of noise which was particularly upsetting to Elvis.

Next week Mike Lyndell is hosting a cyber symposium next week to submit evidence of the election fraud and the act of war initiated by the CCP on November 3rd when they hacked our 2020 Presidential Election.  Mike is one of the patriots that I admire most.  In an effort to help support him, LB and I ordered 2 of his pillows.

Happy Friday!

Here are this weeks Favorites:

First up… a new recipe

Favorite # ONE

Keto Cheese Crackers

which I originally found on Pinterest posted by Family on KETO dot com.  The Family calls them Keto Crackers without Eggs, which I thought was a weird name.  And it is true, there are no eggs in these crackers.  Eggs or not, these crackers are good.

Here’s the recipe:

Keto Cheese Crackers

  • Servings: 6
  • Time: 30 mins
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, gouda, mozzarella, parmesan, or a mix)
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds + some to sprinkle
  • a pinch of dried oregano
  • pinch of powdered garlic
  • a pinch of any other spices optional (chili flakes, paprika, dried basil)

Directions

  • In a microwave safe bowl, mix everything together: grated cheese with butter, almond flour, coconut flour, sesame seeds, pinch of salt, pinch of garlic, herbs and sesame seeds.
  • Microwave on high for 1 minute. Remove from microwave, stir well and knead the dough with your hands. If it’s still not possible to knead, microwave for 30 seconds more and then knead the dough.
  • Roll the dough on a parchment paper and sprinkle with 1 TBS of sesame seeds if you like.
  • Cut the crackers in a shape you prefer.  I used a cookie cutter.
  • If you just want to have crackers without leftovers cut in cubes or triangles.
  • Bake at 375° F for 8 – 15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Enjoy!

Favorite # THREE

But as everyone knows, there is more to celebrating our July 4th Independence Day than eating hotdogs.  Much effort went into our country becoming independent.

Favorite # FOUR

Independence

It is a blessing!

Although we weren’t technically independent on the 4th of July in 1776, we DECLARED it.  On that day we were neither free of the British crown nor the American Revolutionary War.  That war would last until 1783.  During this time, Colonial America stood side by side with our Founding Fathers to fight.  Colonial America eventually won the Revolutionary War and freedom from the British government and their atrocities.  It shouldn’t be taken lightly that a great deal of blood was shed to bestow the the blessings of freedom on those of us who enjoy it today.  Anyone who alleges differently is ignorant.

Independence is a blessing and if Americans don’t wake up, we’re likely to lose it.

I’m Kim… and I love Pretty clothes, Pretty décor, Pretty days, and Pretty much anything that involves family and fun.  Growing up, My Mama told me more than once “Pretty is as Pretty does” …encouraging me to focus on the inner pretty girl, as she is the one that matters most.

Here on my blog, I’m sharing what I see as pretty.  Whether it be an outfit, an experience, an event, a memory or thought.  Hopefully I’ll share something that will be interesting, useful, or make you smile along the way.
